Accessibility

PLESSA wants everyone to be able to shop plessaplessa.com, including people with disabilities. We are continually improving the site and applying relevant accessibility standards.

Our goal

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make websites more accessible for people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, voice control and other assistive technology.

What we have done

  • The whole site can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
  • Buttons, links, icons and form fields have text labels that screen readers announce.
  • Product images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • The menu, search, cart and pop-up windows can be closed with the Escape key and return you to where you were.
  • Moving content has a pause button, and animations switch off when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Text is designed to meet color-contrast guidelines, can be enlarged with your browser’s zoom, and the layout adapts to any screen size.
  • We test pages with automated accessibility tools and by hand, and fix what we find.

Third-party features

Some parts of the shopping experience are provided by other companies, including checkout and payments (Shopify) and email and text-message sign-up forms. We report accessibility issues to these providers when we find them, but we do not control their code.
